Fireroads, singletrack and rugged terrain are calling, and Trek's 6500 is a super way to answer! Its lively Trek Alpha Black Series aluminum frame and 100mm-travel RockShox fork turn rough trails into your playground. The fork even features a remote lockout for efficiency on roads and when climbing. This great hardtail also boasts a quick-shifting 27-speed Shimano drivetrain and powerful Avid Elixir disc brakes. Love this bike to bits. Go everywhere on it, cycle paths and into the woods. The only things i can find fault in it are the tires, pedals and maybe the handle bar grips.

      Comments:

This is my main bike and I do love it. I have learned to be able to strip most of it down and replace all of the parts. My only gripe is that the plonker who sold it to me sold a size too small and the geometry on descents is very poor as a result. This bike has amazing balance and in the main is great for climbing. The problem is because the size is wrong (note not a problem with the bike as a whole) it really feels poor going down steep inclines. I love the bike though and blame the seller on providing me with a bike frame what was too small for my height.

      Comments:

This is my first real mountain bike that i purchased my self, first i was going to buy the 6000 model 2010 after research and i didn't even consider the 6500 cause of the price but at the day that i went to buy i saw this bike sitting on side, it catch my attention how beautiful it was and then i jumped on it and i just pedal a few steps away in store.... oh my goodnesss this is Crazy, its very light to me amazing brakes and handling, i felt all that in just a second, so i said no way to the 6000 (i'm talking about 2010 models) just swipe the credit card i will take this babe home. and then after i'm still very happy with it, amazing climbing and gears... just need frequent gear adjustments which is not a big deal take only 2 min to get it done.

      Comments:

2008 6500, Ride this bike in the woods of NH/VT, I have never had a tire failure or broken parts except for 2 rear drailer hangers on logs.(Now have SLX derailer) Most of my riding is in woods, nothing but dear trails, so did add discs to assist in down hill control. I beat this bike and it just keeps on going.

My old bike was 14 years old. This bike is like night and day. It is a great price for top quality components. I feel a lot more confident on this bike. I am not afraid to go on terrain that I wouldn't try with my old bike. I would recommend this bike to anyone.
