2011 Trek 6700

Trek does the classic aluminum hardtail right with the 6700. Its Trek Alpha Black Series aluminum frame teams with RockShox's 100mm-travel Recon fork for a super-sweet ride no matter what the trails dish out. The fine ride continues with Bontrager tires providing plenty of bite whether you're in mud, hardpack or loamy dirt. And the powerful Avid Elixir disc brakes keep you in complete control in any conditions and feature reach adjust so you can put your levers where you want them. The rest of the components are a solid mix of low weight, durability and reliability with XT cranks and rear derailleur, and SLX shifting with Bontrager/Shimano wheels.

I was actually looking for a Stumpjumper, but when I compared the two bikes, I bought the Trek. I can ride around the neighborhood with my dog during the week and take it to the singletrack on the weekend. Great all-around bike!

This bike is awesome, have the 2010 model and love it. great for every type of riding from bombing down trails to taking the kids for a ride around the park. great bang for your buck, i am planning on upgrading the wheels just to shed a little weight. I added some clipless pedals to really take control. I have about 500 miles and have only had to make minor adjustments (cable, derailleur, brakes). Buy this bike, you wont be disappointed.

        Comments:

It is a pretty decent bike. I bought last years model, It was a lot cheaper then. msrp was [$] this is a great bike for people who have outgrown their old mountain bike and are looking to upgrade but not spend a fortune on a full-suspension.
