So much can be said about this wonderful bike, I recently started riding and was giving a Trek 2.1 Alpha to start out on. The bike handles great carrys speed threw corners and downhill of course. I have the Shimano 105 drivetrain and its smooth and never have had any issues with the 105. I have recently upgrade to the Trek madone 6.5 but use this bike still on my trainer. Honestly should of bought some carbon wheels for the 2.1 and called it quits but couldnt pass up the deal i got on my madone awesome bike.

I was looking for another road bike only to discover that most Treks under $4000 are made in china. Sad to see and I won't buy another Trek.

First time owner of a true road bike. Wow! What a difference compared to my cruiser bike. Hills, what hills? Speed, like turning on the after burners. Well made & sturdy. Affinity 1 saddle feels great. Handles well on curves & corners. Sram's Apex double tap is fun and easy to change gears. The paint job of Starry Night Black/Charcoal is what a racing bike should look like. Now where is Mark Cavendish?
